Despite a judge’s attempt to preclude a Pontiac, Michigan man from receiving a fair trial, the man was exonerated by a full acquittal after a jury unanimously ruled that two Michigan State Troopers lied and falsified official documents in order to secure a search warrant to obtain the blood of a driver.
According to jurors, Michigan State Patrol Troopers (one of whom was fresh out of the academy) lied and intentionally put false information in a search warrant, then falsified reports to secure the arrest and charging of an innocent man. The troopers, confronted with video from their patrol vehicle, refused to change their testimony after the footage proved they perjured themselves in court.
The jurors quickly arrived at their verdict, citing GLCE’s Dan Billington as the only credible witness they heard during the 5 day long trial.
