Kenosha, WI – Charges Dropped

March 6, 2016

A Kenosha man was accused of running a red light and colliding with a vehicle in an intersection, which had been making a left-turn.  The police investigators failed to properly investigate the collision, and even mis-represented facts to the District Attorney’s office when charges were requested.

GLCE’s Dan Billington was asked to conduct a crash reconstruction.  After comparing the electronic data stored on the “black boxes” from both vehicles, and then comparing that data to the traffic light programs, it was determined that both vehicles had entered the intersection at the exact same time.  The data also revealed that the left-turning vehicle was driving at nearly 100% throttle before and during the turn maneuver, suggesting he was trying to either beat a changing light or the approaching vehicle which legally had the right-of-way.
