Full Acquittal – Roseville, MN

December 1, 2025

A Minnesota man was operating a vehicle on May 16, 2023, at approximately 1714 hours, when it collided with three pedestrians from a group of four, who were walking in and along a roadway in Roseville, MN.  Officers from the City of Roseville Police Department responded to the scene, but rather than conducting a proper investigation, the court found that the officers had simply opined the crash could only have been caused by inattentive driving.  They conducted no actual investigation and thus applied no scientific analysis from which to draw a properly formed conclusion, despite having Collision Reconstructionists available to them.

Despite a parade of ten witnesses for the prosecution, the defense’s lone witness, GLFE’s Dan Billington, proved to the court that an objective analysis could only conclude that this collision did not occur as claimed by the state.  As a result, the judge concluded that the state was unable to meet their burden, acquitting the man of all charges against him.
